About the Farm
Mysterious Horizons is a certified organic farm, nestled in the Mesilla Valley of New Mexico. The farm also functions as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), which currently serves 76 half shares (approximately 33.5 full shares) to people in the nearby city of Las Cruces and to El Paso, TX, which is 40 miles south.
The owner and farmer, Jeff Graham, has been operating this farm for approximately seven years. The business started out exclusively as an herb operation, but it eventually expanded into what it is today, with the CSA aspect coming into existence about three years ago (this being its third year).
Nine of the farm’s acres are occupied by a pecan orchard, while approximately one and three quarters acres are devoted to crop and flower production for the CSA, farmer’s markets, and online sales. Online sales are limited exclusively to herbs, mostly dried.
Our role on the farm is simple: technical management, or in other words, fieldwork. We do everything that needs to be done in the field in order for the farm to function as a business. This means we weeded almost 2 acres of land, prepared beds and rows, planted, harvested, in addition to several other tasks that are necessary to keep things moving along smoothly.
